I was asked what my motivation was for the Spot @ Stroke App when it was released to the Play Store.
Starting the project, I knew the following:
- 15 million people worldwide suffer a stroke each year and 5.8 million people die from it.
- Current trends suggest that the number of annual deaths will climb to 6.7 million by 2015 without appropriate action. Stroke claims a life every 6 seconds.
- 1 in 6 people worldwide will have a stroke in their lifetime.
My idea was simple, there is a test for people who may of had a Stroke.
My idea was help people who might be living at risk of a Stroke, by developing an App that enables someone with little technical knowledge, living remotely to do the following:
1, View a Stroke check list
2, View/Add contacts
3, View their location on Google maps
4, Send their position VIA SMS
5, Take two photos of key symptoms of a Stroke
6, Take a video of a key symptoms of a Stroke
7, View previous photos/videos and share the media through many platforms
8, And we even have a handy flash light for your use
Note:
This app is currently in English, Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian
